The Origins of the National Kidney Registry: Understanding the story behind the National Kidney Registry and how a father’s determination to help his daughter inspired the creation of an organization that has revolutionized the transplant industry. This episode features special Guest Maria Abreu Goris, a physician assistant at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center with 25 years of experience in the field of renal/pancreas transplantation. She has held several different roles in the transplant program, including waitlist transplant coordinator, living donor (recipient) coordinator, and clinical manager of operations for the renal/pancreas transplant program. She currently serves as the chief transplant coordinator for the living donor program.
