National Kidney Registry Holds New England Regional Training Event in Boston

The National Kidney Registry (NKR) hosted a successful regional training event for transplant professionals on September 12–13, 2024, at the Lenox Hotel Boston.

The training included topics such as the kidney paired donation process, donor-recipient compatibility, patient microsites, remote donation, the Kidney for Life program, and Donor Shield.

A total of 30 people attended the event, including six members of the NKR team and representatives from 13 transplant centers: Baystate Medical Center, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Duke University Hospital, MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, Hartford Hospital, Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Massachusetts General Hospital, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, UCI Medical Center, UMass Memorial Medical Center, and University of Minnesota Medical Center.

Speakers included two NKR team members—Joe Sinacore, Vice President of Network Development, and David Zhelezov, Manager of Network Development. The other speakers were Kari Rancourt (Hartford Hospital), Karen Miller (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Margaret Voges (University of Minnesota Medical Center), and Suzanne McGuire, a Clinical Support Consultant.
